Paul Sperry, a sailor and inventor, founded the Sperry brand in 1935. The company’s shoes are known for their non-slip design. Before their development, Paul accidentally fell overboard, inspiring him to create footwear featuring “anti-slip”, ideal for boating. He then proceeded to introducing Sperry “Top-Sider” boat shoe that consists of a white outsole to avoid the shoe from leaving dark scuff marks on
