A bus passenger is scrolling on their phone and stops at a photo of a woman. I hear them whisper to themselves, “She could be prettier if she’s slimmer.” It echoed in my head as I wondered what was wrong because the woman in the photo seemed fine in my eyes.
The truth is that no lady is the same! They have different backgrounds, colors, appearances, sizes, choices, and dreams. Straying away from the norm doesn’t make her any less of a woman. There is no box to womanhood, nor a singular view or version, because what makes a woman is a woman herself.
Singular And Uniquely Made
A woman’s sense of individuality is now more apparent than ever. She doesn’t let society dictate how she lives her life. Of course, perceptions and expectations of women still stand, but the difference now is how she doesn’t let those limit her.
Some view women collectively, thinking of them as the same people doing the same things. Traditional women raise a child and maintain a home; modern women are independent and focus on building a career. Whatever path a lady chooses is hers to make.
Women allow themselves to create opportunities depending on their preferences. There’s no more complying with what outsiders have to say. What matters is who they are and what they want. Thus, their essence is in their visions and what they do with them.
She Contains Multitudes
A quiet woman suddenly shoots her hand up during a meeting, opens her mouth, and shares ideas confidently, which shocked everyone in the room. Who would’ve thought a timid lady would have mountains of colorful ideas?
Surprise, surprise! Females aren’t one-dimensional human beings, so it’s time to let go of the notion that all women are reserved and coy. She can do a hundred different things, and you’ll be amazed at how multicolored her life is.
She’s a woman in STEM and can create unique art pieces through sculpture. That girl with the double degree? She’s a mom of three. The old lady you saw across the street used to be a competitive weightlifter. Also, remember the little girl who always reads to escape the real world? She’s a public speaker now.
Being a woman alone is extraordinary, but the things they do add to their greatness. She can have multiple roles, countless hobbies, and various purposes. So, it’s time to believe how much a lady can do and see how it can shape the world.
Strength In Her
As women, they don’t always have to reach incredible milestones and achieve mind-blowing goals to be exceptional. Greatness doesn’t always mean engaging in different activities and juggling various tasks on top of performing all roles as a mother, sister, aunt, worker, and friend. It’s perfectly fine not to be doing all these!
Thus, the greatness of being a woman stems from their ability to create something and determine her story. Plus, the innate qualities of a lady, such as empathy, tolerance, integrity, and creativity, make her even more remarkable. No one can do it like her.
